The 31st edition of the Paris Biennale will be held from September 13th to 17th in the magnificent setting of the Grand Palais. Don’t miss this golden opportunity to see paintings, sculpture, furniture, jewellery and tapestries from around the world.
6,000 years of art gathered in the Grand Palais
For the 2019 edition of this major art and antiques fair, the Kingdom of Bahrain was chosen as the guest of honour. Hundreds of works by Bahraini artists will be presented in a dedicated pavilion that will also showcase the cultural heritage of this Persian Gulf nation whose civilization reaches back some 3,000 years BC. This year’s Biennale will also pay homage to the magnificent metal structure of the Grand Palais by focussing on the green colour of the paint that emphasises the elegantly sweeping lines of the architecture.
A celebration of beautiful objects
Originally called the Biennial des Antiquaries, the fair has maintained its original aim to present the most beautiful artistic achievements of man in all areas of the fine arts. From 17th century Italian paintings to the most contemporary jewellery, and from a millennia-old bull statuette from the Amlash culture to an Art Deco pedestal table, a world of beautiful objects will be featured at the Grand Palais for a week.
